Permanent headteacher's post is filled at Kincraig school

Highland Council has confirmed the appointment of Sara Riach as headteacher of Alvie Primary School in Kincraig.

Ms Riach is amongst three posts of headteacher confirmed for primary schools in the Inverness, Nairnshire, and Badenoch and Strathspey areas.

Kirsty MacVicar is taking up the role permanently at Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis while James Cook is being installed at Cawdor Primary School.

Ms Riach and Ms MacVicar are both currently working as acting heads at their respective schools, and will take the posts permanently with immediate effect.

Mr Cook is currently working as an an education support officer for Moray Council and is due to start in late October.

Nicky Grant, Highland Council's executive chief officer for education and learning, said: “I would like to congratulate each of our new head teachers on their appointments.

"It is fantastic that we can continue working with two individuals who are already established within their school and both myself, and the Cawdor community, look forward to welcoming their new head teacher to the area."
