Aviemore's 'Penguin Run' keeps the show on the road





This weekend's Parkrun in Aviemore came with good advice from the stewards: "Run like a penguin, for safety!"

One look at the course was enough to convince the 35 brave participants, after temperatures plunged to near Antarctic levels.

For the 11 first-timers it was certainly a baptism of ice, but all heeded the advice and there were no casualties reported from the bold stewards.

As ever, a great team of volunteers turned out to see everything went off without any problems.

Saturday's crew were: Mags McHardy, Wendy Grigor, Pete Wright, Katie Hanson, Aoife Ni Mhaoileoin, Malcolm Hinsley, Alethea McHardy, Hilary Quick, Bill Dewitt and Sue Oxley.

Just the one new personal best was recorded, not unsurprisingly, and the event welcomed guests from 10 different clubs.
