"We had 110 folk in all," said organiser Hilary Quick, "perhaps boosted by 'refugees' from Elgin, where their route was under water. I was also told that others had cancelled due to high winds.

"As usual at this time of year we had lots of visitors, and I was delighted to have some of them volunteering as well, that's always most helpful."

It was the 115th running of the event and 43 people were introduced to the popular course for the first time.

A total of 16 recorded new personal bests and representatives of 26 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by the following volunteers: Christopher Morris, James Mortimer, Nicola Reed, Katie Reed, Sophie Reed, Alison Wiseman, Hilary Quick, Bill Dewitt and Susan Smith.

Full results and a complete event history can be found on the Aviemore parkrun Results Page.
