Police have recovered a quantity of cannabis valued at approximately £100,000 after a vehicle was stopped on the A9 south of Inverness.

The vehicle was pulled over by officers on Friday afternoon.

Two men, aged 45 and 43-years-old, have been arrested in connection with the recovery and are due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court later today.

Detective Inspector William Nimmo said: "We are committed to tackling crime involving drugs in our community and this recovery is just the latest example of that.

"We rely on information from the public to help us intercept drugs bound for the streets of the Highlands.

"I would urge anyone with information which could help prevent criminal activity to pass it on to us on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
