Ordnance Survey (OS) is appealing for outdoor enthusiasts and keen photographers to submit their best photos of Scotland to OS Photofit.

With just two weeks to go until the first stage of the competition closes, OS are keen to ensure that map covers for popular areas such as the Cairngorms, have a winning image which captures their true beauty.

To date only a handful of images for these areas have been submitted to the competition, compared with over 165 images for the Purbeck and South Dorset map in Southern England.

Rob Andrews from OS said: “OS wants photographs of Britain’s stunning landscapes and amazing urban views. Unfortunately we have only received a few images for much of Scotland.

“There are still two weeks to get out with the camera or search through your exiting images to find an photo which could feature on the OS map cover.

“This is a ‘money can’t buy opportunity’ and a chance for your photo to feature on the shelves of high street retailers, local book shops, tourist information centres, in homes and, most importantly, in the pockets and rucksacks of budding explorers.”

Full details of the competition, including uploading instructions and full terms and conditions, can be found at os.uk/photofit
