One final push for the Highland Hospice appeal
The Highland Hospice is celebrating a successful summer of fundraising with its Project Build Appeal hitting the £4.1 million mark.
The hospice’s brand new Inpatient Unit is set to open its doors to patients in November, leaving a final two months of fundraising which needs £400,000 to achieve its £4.5 million target.
The charity is calling on businesses and other supporters to get behind the appeal to help ensure that the new building is furnished and equipped to the level of quality its patients and their loved ones deserve.
Highland Hospice’s chairman Norman Macdonald said: "The hospice is so grateful to have received such an extraordinary level of support from the public over the past three years.
"We are delighted to have raised £4.1 million for this fantastic new facility, and this is testament to the kindness and generosity of all the communities in the Highlands.
"With just over two months left of Project Build Appeal I would urge anyone who is able, to get behind us and help us to reach our final target."
Contributing to the summer’s success was a letter with donation form sent by the Hospice to all Highland households in July.
This generated a fantastic response, and there is still time to donate either by returning this form or by visiting www.highlandhospice.org . The Hospice also issued Brick-by-Brick home money boxes last year, and is reminding supporters to return them by October before the Appeal ends.
Many local businesses and organisations have been working with Highland Hospice in order to boost the appeal in its final months.
Coming up are several opportunities to show support including entering a car raffle run by MacGregor Industrial Supplies; jumping off a crane in ‘Bungee Ness’ which Tesco Inverness are running at Bogbain Farm on September 17; participating in the Kingsmills Hotel Golf Day and Dinner on September 30; sponsoring one of the contestants in the brand new Ness Factor singing competition; or attending the ICTFC and Ross County led Allie MacKenzie Memorial Dinner at the Kingsmills Hotel on October 29.
Highland Hospice’s Head of Fundraising Andrew Leaver said: "Although we are close to completing the building of our inpatient unit we still need funds to ensure the interior provides a truly relaxing and therapeutic environment.
"Our Project Build Appeal will continue right up until the new hospice opens, so please take this last chance to make a donation or attend one of our appeal events in September or October."
