The villages of Cromdale and Advie are organising a special bash on the afternoon of May 7.

The celebration to mark the coronation of King Charles III is being organised by Cromdale and Advie village halls.

Spokeswoman Mary-Ann Connolly said: "The villages are planning to bring together the communities for a fun afternoon celebrating this historic moment in history.

"There will be something for everyone of all ages. Races, tug of war, sideshows, stalls, face painting, competitions, music, and a special souvenir mug for all children who live in the community.

"Those who remember the coronation of the late Queen could even dig out their souvenir teacups.

"This is a ‘once in the lifetime’ occasion and Cromdale and Advie are making it happen."

The celebrations kicks off at 1pm on the football pitch at Cromdale.

King Charles III's coronation will take place the day before the local celebration – on Saturday May 6 – at Westminster Abbey in London.

During the ceremony, the King will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort.
