Nominate an inspirational entrepreneur for this year’s Highland Business Women Awards
The Highland Business Women Awards are back for 2025.
The annual ceremony honours female-led organisations and teams making a difference in their sectors and is sponsored by SJ Highland Construction.
Highland Business Women (HBW) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, so it is going all out with this year’s awards.
A returning category for this year’s celebration is the woman of inspiration award.
This can only be done by nomination and they must be a member of HBW.
The person must display drive and determination, mentorship to others and an exemplary contribution to business in the Highlands.
Mel Thomson, of Highland Action for Little Ones (HALO), won the award last year.
On winning, she said: “I was not expecting the award and to be nominated alongside the others was an award enough for me. To win is amazing.
“Being able to support and encourage other women to reach their goals and aspirations is something I’ve always strived to do.”
Sustainable enterprise of the year is another returning category for 2025, which is open to members and non-members.
This will go to a business or organisation that is displaying an exceptional sustainability agenda.
The award was picked up by Prickly Thistle in 2024.
Founder Clare Campbell on winning said: “The one thing I do a lot is ask why I’m doing what I am.
“People are aware that systems are broken. We need to look after this planet for our children and we need to ask what we want to leave them?”
The HBW Awards will take place on August 21 at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness.
