NHS Highland apologises for miscommunication over Covid-19 clinic in Boat of Garten

NHS Highland has apologised for confusion over cancellation of a Covid and flu clinic that had been due to take place in Boat of Garten today.

The clinic was due to be held at the village's community hall but has had to be rescheduled.

However, health chiefs have admitted that some of those given appointments were not informed and patients had turn-up this morning only to be told they would not be getting their jags.

A NHS Highland spokeswoman said: "We would like to apologise to those who were asked to attend a vaccination clinic in Boat of Garten today.

"This clinic should not have been open for booking but, due to a scheduling issue, we are aware that people have been invited to attend in error. We are very sorry about that.

"We have done our best to contact those who have been invited for their appointment but are aware we have not been able to reach everyone.

"We would ask anyone who has been sent an appointment for Boat of Garten for October 3 to not attend and instead contact out local Service Delivery Centre Helpline on 08000 320 339 and their appointment can be rescheduled.

"We have clinics in Boat of Garten for October 10 and November 14.

"We are very sorry about the inconvenience we know this will have caused."

It was a combined clinic meaning that those eligible for Covid and flu vaccines could get that at the same time if they wished.
