Newtonmore man fined for driving without insurance for business use

A Newtonmore man who was doing gardening work in Inverness fell foul of the law when police stopped his van.

The attention of the police was drawn to 30 year old William Stewart's vehicle on Culloden Road and the A9 at Milton of Leys on the afternoon of March 14, 2023 and they decided to stop it.

A police computer check revealed that his van was insured but not for business use.

Fiscal depute Grant McLennan told Sheriff Ian Cruickshank that the address on Stewart's licence was also an old one and had not been updated,

Stewart admitted not having the correct policy of insurance and failing to amend his address to his current one of Laggan Park, Newtonmore.

He was fined a total of £420 and his licence endorsed with six penalty points.
