Newtonmore given tough test in Camanachd Cup semi final
Newtonmore have been handed a tough semi-final draw against Kyles Athletic in their quest to claim the Camanachd Cup this season.
The draw for the remaining four teams vying for the 2015 SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup was made earlier today at the Scottish Football Museum in Hampden Park stadium by Richard McBrearty, curator of the Scottish Football Museum, and Jim Fleeting SFA Director of Football Development.
It sees Inveraray take on either Fort William or Lovat on Saturday August 8 and then the Blue and Whites will take centrestage a week later.
Both matches will be televised live by BBC Alba and throw up at 4pm. Venues will be confirmed shortly.
The Camanachd Association confirmed last week that the Scottish Football Museum will host a temporary shinty exhibition from October through to March, next year.
It will celebrate the historic links between with the two sports and promoting shinty to a new and wider audience.
The SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup is shinty’s greatest prize and one of Scotland’s oldest and most iconic sporting trophies.
This year's cup final will be played at Mossfield Stadium in Oban on Saturday September 19.
