Newtonmore Camanachd have applied to relocate the main pedestrian access at the Eilan.

The proposed new entrance to the ground is given as land 25 metres west of The Smithy on Perth Road.

The move is proposed on safety grounds and if approved will separate fans and traffic currently using the road into the Eilan.

A club spokeswoman said: “Also pedestrians will cross the carriageway closer to the 30mph zone and farther away from the corner after the Spey bridge which gives a longer sight line for those crossing.

The application has been lodged with Highland Council planners by John Begg, of Truim Cottage, Main Street and the planning agent is Highland Rural Design.
