Motorists warned about A9 roadworks in Badenoch
Motorists using the A9 in Badenoch are being warned about roadworks which will be in place from the start of next week.
Transport Stland has said the £148,000 of improvements will bring benefits to users of the A9 travelling between Pitlochry and Aviemore.
Contractors Scotland TranServ will be carrying out this essential carriageway maintenance between the A9/A889 junction to Dalwhinnie and the A9/A86 junction to Kingussie, at Cuaich.
The works are the second phase of a larger programme of resurfacing works.
They will adjoin the north end of the previous resurfacing scheme completed in 2010.
The scheme is currently programmed to be constructed, in a two-week slot, starting next Monday (March 19) until March 30.
A TranServ spokesman said: "During construction, the trunk road will be reduced to one lane under temporary traffic signal control, with 10mph convoy working in place.
"Lay-by numbers 95 and 96 will be closed for the duration of the works. The work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm, from Mondays to Fridays.
"This method of working helps to ensure the safety of the travelling public and workforce, both of which are of paramount importance.
"Out with working hours and throughout the weekends, traffic management will be lifted to assist the easy flow of traffic."
Local access will be maintained as far as possible and emergency services will have unrestricted access at all times.
Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works.
