CairnGorm Mountain has announced a new pricing structure for season passes for this winter.

The company has said that prices will be cheaper than last season which was hit by a lack of snow.

Season passes for 2017/18 at the resort operated by Natural Retreats will go on sale tomorrow (Friday).

Under a revised pricing structure, snowsports enthusiasts will have two opportunities to purchase season passes at a lower price.

In addition to the traditional early bird period where tickets can be purchased at a discount, this year will see the introduction of a pre-early bird period where season passes will be sold at even lower prices.

Until the end of June, snowsports fans will be able to take advantage of an adult season pass – the most popular – at a pre-early bird rate of £245.

The purchase price will rise to £280 in the early bird period from July to October.

Full prices kick in from November when the adult season pass will be priced at £375.

Natural Retreats has overhauled the entire pricing structure. In addition to the pre-early bird window to buy season passes, overall prices for season passes have come down compared to last year.

Natural Retreats marketing manager Emma Beagrie explained: "We really value the loyalty our season pass holders show us year after year, and appreciate that this has been a poor season for everyone.

"Our prices for the 17/18 season are extremely competitive. For example, the adult season pass, which is our most popular, is 15% cheaper than last year even if purchased in November at full price. We hope that customers won’t be put off by this season’s poor weather."

The season passes will all be valid from the 1st November for 12 months. Anyone with current season passes that expire before this date will still be able to use their existing passes until 31st October.

All prices can be found at http://www.cairngormmountain.org/season-passes/. Season passes can be purchased online or from the ticket office at CairnGorm Mountain, with all passes being posted out or available for collection from 1st November.
