New owners being sought for the Highland Line in Aviemore
A well-known central Aviemore restaurant which closed in the early days of Covid and has not reopened since has been put up for sale.
The Highland Line is part of the historic listed Victorian buildings at the village's railway station and even looks out onto one of the main two platforms.
It was given the name in honour of the line it is located adjacent to by Aviemore-based businessman Stephen White when he acquired the restaurant.
The venue had previously traded for many years as Roo's Leap offering Tex Mex cuisine.
Mr White said: “We’ve got The Highland Line right back to its former glory and it is now ready for new owners to walk in and operate.
"We are confident of finding someone who will make our beautiful place a roaring success.
"We are still operating La Taverna and The Old Minister's House but we have had to tailor our more limited resource hence we have reluctantly put The Highland Line on the market.”
The 90 cover restaurant and bar with outside seating has just gone on the market.
It closed its doors on March 23, 2020.
Mr White and his partner Lorraine Elliott carried out a major redevelopment of the restaurant to emphasises its railway connections.
They also transformed it into a gastro pub.
The Highland Line leasehold is on the market through Cornerstone at an asking price of £195,000, with the lease running to 2032 with an opportunity to extend.
