Aviemore star's tribute to his home

“I’m beyond excited,” said Aviemore balladeer Stevie Macleod, after spending three weekends on his latest promotional video after its launch this week.

The stirring and evocative shots were put together as the perfect visual backdrop to Macleod’s, Where I call Home, title track of his new EP.

“It was filmed across my homeland, in the Highlands and Moray,” he told the Strathy.

“It was magic, with rivers waded, hills conquered, rain dodged, kilts blown upwards and many cracking times had.”

The filming took place in three parts and was expertly edited to great effect.

Macleod said: “The first weekend we were on the Moray Coast around MacDuff and Cullen.

“Weekend number two took us all into Strathspey, around the Cairngorms and Glenfeshie. The final session took us over to Skye and Glenshiel.

“It’s such a buzz seeing the finished product.

“I could not have made the video without K Millen Media, with Wayne Watson Photography and A-COG Audio Engineer – a huge thanks to them and their new business venture KMAC Music Productions.

“They deserve all the success they get.”

The Inverness-based company has just started out producing videos and providing services for local musicians.

Macleod is delighted with the final edit and posted this message for his social media followers: “I hope you all enjoy the video. Look after yourselves, your land, your country, your fellow people and cherish places you call home.

“If you would like to help me continue to make music like this, please feel free to check out my first EP album off Bandcamp. It is the only site that gives musicians the majority of the sale.”

Where I call Home features Macleod’s trademark driving acoustic guitar and a crisp, uncluttered arrangement, beautifully produced.

Other tracks are, The Highlands, One Thing in

My Mind and Different Roads.

Macleod said: “All the tracks concern the experiences I’ve had and places I’ve been in the Highlands of this magical country.”

Work now starts on another single, he said, about a certain local mountain range.

“I’m looking to release it in early 2021,” said the singer.
