New dualled A9 junctions revealed for Aviemore
The final proposals for connecting Aviemore and other villages in the strath with the dualled A9 have generally been welcomed following their unveiling.
The route between Dalraddy and the Slochd will be the longest single section to be constructed at 25 kilometres as part of the Scottish Government’s £3 billion project.
It is expected to cost in the region of £500 million to £600 million to dual the road through Strathspey.
There will be three grade-separated junctions – which means no right-hand turns – at Aviemore south, Granish and Blackmount, and there will be three further left in, left out junctions to help serve the entire length of the section.
There are currently 33 access points on the stretch.
