New ATM in operation in Grantown





A new ATM is now in operation in Grantown where there have been issues with accessing cash during the peak tourism season.

As of Tuesday, the Strathspey capital’s community hub on the High Street has been home to the cash machine.

Bill Sadler, chairman of the Grantown Society which is behind the Hub, told the Strathy more facilities would be available soon.

He commented: “It is hoped the Hub will be opening soon with information and commercial space, top quality broadband and fantastic IT facilities with opportunities for internet meetings, research and hot desking.

“The Grantown Society is now seeking to engage an independent contractor to carry out development and promotion work for the project.”

It is now eight years since 2 High Street closed as the SSE showroom.

Prior to that it was Scottish Hydro Electric which amalgamated with Southern Electric in 1998.

The last High Street bank in the whole of Badenoch and Strathspey closed its doors last month with the demise of the Bank of Scotland in Aviemore.
