A SHERIFF has criticised some Wick drivers who appear to have scant regard for road traffic regulations.
Sheriff Andrew Berry spoke out at the town’s sheriff court during a case involve a teenage moped driver who had travelled along a pavement kerb at excessive speed.
The sheriff remarked: “I probably should not be surprised as it would appear that there is a different view taken of road traffic regulations in the town of Wick and the rest of the country.”
Sheriff Berry went on to highlight the problem of drivers regularly parking on the opposite side of Bridge Street, Wick – in some cases all day.
“I could go out now and count 15 vehicles. They even park in the area reserved for buses. No-one seems to care!”
