'Devastating' fire at Beach Bar

A MORAY bar has been destroyed by fire.

The blaze broke out at the Beach Bar in Lossiemouth on Saturday morning (September 22).

The fire service was alerted at 6.03am.

It is understood up to 11 different appliances were at the scene tackling the fire.

A spokesman confirmed: "Operations control mobilised a number of resources to the scene at Commerce Road, where a fire had taken hold within a business premises.

"Due to the strong winds, the fire had also began to spread to a nearby area of gorse.

"Crews remain in attendance tackling the fires.

"There are no casualties."

The owner of the Beach Bar, Graham Fleming, posted a message on their Facebook page later that morning.

It read: "We’re born with dreams and we work and we work to build those dreams. The Beach Bar was my dream and it ended today with a devastating fire.

"Thanks for all the messages of support at this time. Never give up on your dreams."
