BAY City Rollers icon Les McKeown will bring his show to the Ironworks next September.

Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers will play the Inverness venue on Friday, September 6 next year bringing back the music that became the soundtrack for a generation of teenagers in the 1970s – and a tartan look that was all their own.

Les will be aiming to recreate the thrill and excitement of Rollermania, performing all the band’s original hits including Bye Bye Baby, Shang-a-Lang, Remember, Summerlove Sensation and Give A Little Love plus many more as well as introducing songs from new album Lost Songs.

The Bay City Rollers were one of the country’s biggest bands in the 70s. Forming in Edinburgh, the band quickly gained a following across the UK.

Known for their Scottish tartan-trimmed outfits, the BCR in the UK alone notched up nine UK top-10 singles – with two going to number one.

Over a five year period, they also reached the top of the charts across Europe, North America, Japan and Australia.

The current estimated worldwide album sales of the band are more than £300 million.

Sadly, one of Bay City Rollers founding members Alan Longmuir – announced as special guest for the Les McKeown Bay City Rollers gig last year at Eden Court – died last month.

Tickets for next year’s gig are on sale now from: www.beyondpresents.co.uk; www.seetickets.com; in person from the Ironworks box office
