Two men, 19 and 40, arrested over wilful fire raising incident
Two men, aged 19 and 40, have been arrested in connection with a wilful fire at a Highland property.
At about 4.25am on Thursday July 10, police were made aware of a fire at the Mansfield Estate in Tain.
Emergency services extinguished the fire and there were no injuries.
A similar incident happened on the same estate on Sunday July 13 and police are currently trying to determine whether both incidents were linked.
The two men are due to appear at Tain Sheriff Court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Calum Reid, of Police Scotland, said: “Inquiries are ongoing into both incidents and I’d ask anyone with information to come forward.
“I’d also ask anyone with dashcam, doorbell or private CCTV footage to review this and bring anything of significance to our attention.
“We appreciate how concerning these incidents have been for the local community in Tain and want residents to be assured that we are investigating theses fires and are determined to find those responsible.”
