GRANTOWN'S new multi-million-pound care home is throwing its doors open to the community days before its first residents move in.

Parklands Group is giving locals a sneak preview of its new 40-bed care facility Lynemore, its eighth care home and the largest single investment, at a cost of £4.5 million.

The opening marks a return to Grantown by Parklands who previously operated the town's Mount Barker care home. Residents are due to move into the new care home on September 10.

Managing director Ron Taylor said: "We are very proud of what we have achieved at Lynemore and look forward to welcoming local people into our new care home.

"As with all of our care homes, Lynemore will be very much rooted in the local community, creating employment for locals and providing a care facility that is closely integrated with local health services, schools and community groups."
