Five star Lovat too good in derby clash

A 5-0 win over Glenurquhart at Balgate saw Lovat ease through to the north semi final of the Artemis MacAulay Cup.

Duncan Davidson set the home team on the victory trail when he opened the scoring in the 24th minute and the advantage was doubled six minutes later when Graeme MacMillan netted.

Davidson struck again in the 43rd minute to give Lovat a commanding 3-0 half time lead. Glen were unable to make any impact after the break and two late goals from Marc MacLachlan reinforced Lovat’s superiority.

Lovat’s semi-final opponents will be 2016 winners Kinlochshiel who they will face at Beauly’s Braeview Park on Saturday, July 21.
