Suspect appears in court after two men found shot dead in Range Rover

A 32-year-old has appeared in court charged with two counts of murder after two men were found shot dead in a Range Rover.

Jonathan Houseman is accused of killing Will Henry and Brian McIntosh, who were discovered in a vehicle parked at the back of industrial units, near a disused railway line, on September 30.

Houseman, formerly of Quarry Park Road, Stourbridge, West Midlands, appeared for a hearing at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Speaking only to confirm his name, address and date of birth, during a six-minute hearing, he was remanded back into custody to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday.

There had been a short adjournment in his case being heard on Monday, as the court found it had two different defence solicitors attending to represent Houseman.

With the confusion settled, Houseman was once again brought back into the dock of the magistrates’ court, and apologised in connection with the legal mix-up, “for wasting the court’s time”.

Mr Henry, 31, and Mr McIntosh, 29, both from Bartley Green, Birmingham, were found at the scene, off Moor Street, in Brierley Hill, Dudley, at around 3.30pm.

However, detectives believe both men were shot around 1pm.

A post-mortem examination revealed they both died from gunshot wounds.

Mr Henry was reportedly the brother of West End actor Matt Henry.

In a statement released on Friday, his family described him as “the light of our lives” while Mr McIntosh’s relatives said they were “absolutely devastated and heartbroken”.

Mr Henry’s family remembered him as a much-loved father, son, brother, uncle, partner and friend, who was “loving and caring”.

Father-of-two Mr McIntosh was described as a devoted partner, doting dad and loving brother to his three sisters and three brothers.

A second person initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was released without charge at the weekend.
