Police appeal for information after Portknockie car theft
POLICE Scotland are appealing for information following the theft of a distinctive car in Portknockie.
It was around 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday August 30) when the midnight blue Vauxhall Cavalier was taken from a property.
The car was in the process of being restored.
Police described the car as having had rust damage, no headlights and no sideskirts but did have a spoiler, twin exhaust and “Vauxhall Performance Car Club” wording on the rear windscreen.
Investigating Officer, PC Iain Wilson of the Buckie Community Policing Team said: “We understand the vehicle was possibly loaded onto a white Ford Transit car transporter which had fluorescent yellow side skirts.
“As it was around lunchtime there would have been a lot of traffic on the roads at this time. If you recall being behind or passing a vehicle transporter with a distinctive blue Vauxhall Cavalier loaded onto it I would ask that you get in touch with us.
“We’d be keen to know where and when you saw it and any details of which direction it was heading in.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 4161 or 30 August.”
Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
