Derby win can give Stags' season life

Ross Sutherland captain Ali Kennedy is expecting tonight’s derby match against Highland 2nd XV to be a good advert for the game.

Kennedy has crossed the divide, playing for the Stags at youth level but making his senior debut with Highland, before crossing the Kessock Bridge one more time to return to his family club.

He says that there has been a good level of training recently, and under the floodlights of Canal Park he expects the derby to be a spectacle.

“Highland are sitting at the top of the league at the moment,” Kennedy said.

“It’s a bit of a difficult one, it’s over on their pitch as well which suits them for their game."
