Banks workers urge Inverness businesses to join the marathon

BANK workers got off the starting blocks yesterday to encourage other businesses to sign up for the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running.

Team members from HSBC, official banking partner for the Inverness 10K Corporate Challenge, braved the rain meeting by the River Ness to limber up for the challenge.

Most of the group work at the bank’s Eastgate office but they were joined by their Scottish chief executive John Rendall, who is based in Edinburgh, and Susan Rowand, from Aberdeen, who is the area commercial director for the north of Scotland.

The Corporate Challenge is part of this year’s Inverness marathon on 2nd October and the team event, open to employers and employees from all sectors of business and industry. Teams comprise a minimum of four and a maximum of six employees from a single organisation or employer.

Prizes are awarded for the fastest team overall, as well as the fastest teams from various public and business sectors.
