Inverness Harriers’ athlete Abbie McNally is toasting a double gold medal success at the 2018 School Games National Finals as a season of outstanding success draws to a close.

The 17-year-old Alness Academy pupil savoured a breakthrough moment and new personal best in winning her long jump event at Loughborough University at the weekend.

A fantastic jump of 3.87 metres knocked five centimetres off her PB, while she also once again defended her 200-metres title with a third successive gold at the annual UK event.

McNally’s endeavours this year reached a peak last month as she won 200 metres gold, 100 metres and long jump silver medals at the Cerebral Palsy World Games in Barcelona.
