Medical professional sees his efforts recognised

AN NHS Highland medical professional has received a prestigious award for all the years and hard work he has dedicated to his profession.

James Beastall who is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic consultant with NHS Highland received an honorary citation by the College of Podiatry.

This award was presented to Mr Beastall at a special awards ceremony.

It recognises the efforts he has continuously made to podiatry over the years.

Upon receiving this award Mr Beastall said: "The award was in recognition of services to the profession of podiatry with whom I have established a close working relationship since my arrival over five years ago.

"It is a good example of collaborative working and the close relationship that we have established is certainly of mutual benefit to both specialities and it is a great example of multi disciplinary care. "

Lord Kennedy of Southwark who is a patron at the College of Podiatry was among those in attendance. Mr Beastall said: "It was a real honour to be presented with this award by Lord Kennedy of Southwark, patron of the College of Podiatry.

"I was very happy to accept it at the annual awards ceremony in September."

Chief executive of the College of Podiatry, Steve Jamieson, said: "The college is delighted to be able to recognise Mr Beastall and highlight his contribution to podiatry and the importance of collaborative working and patient-focused care."
