The event, to be held at Inverness Town House, is being organised by the Archie Foundation.

It is looking for 10 males and 10 females aged over 14 and of all shapes and sizes with any connection to Raigmore’s children’s unit or the foundation.

They could include former patients and their families, or staff.

The new children’s unit opened in 2016 following a £2 million appeal launched by the foundation in conjunction with The Inverness Courier.

The foundation is now hoping to raise £160,000 for the Fresh Air project which will include fun features and topiary animals such as a 30ft Nessie.

The fashion show will be held on Friday November 30 from 7pm to 10pm. It will be watched by about 100 people and include entertainment from TFX Performing Arts Academy.

Jackie Cuddy, manager of the city’s Eastgate Shopping Centre and a member of the foundation’s Highland fundraising committee, said no experience was necessary.

“We are looking for people who have benefited from or been part of the work of this wonderful children’s facility helping to provide first class care for the children of the Highlands and Islands,” she said.

“This is a ‘real’ fashion show for all ages over 14 and all shapes and sizes.

“If there are families out there that have gone through a tough time recently, this experience could help to lift them and make them feel special. It also gives them the opportunity to give something back which is important to a lot of people.”

Models will have their hair and make-up professionally done by Gorgeous Hair Salon, Body Shop, Debenhams and Boots. Clothes will be provided by Eastgate retailers and independent retailer Rouge Boutique.

Anyone wanting to take part, should email marketing@eastgate-centre.co.uk with details about themselves and links to the unit or foundation.
