ROSS County have landed a Scottish League Cup cracker against Neil Lennon's Celtic next month.

Two years ago, the Staggies stunned the Hoops at Hampden in the Scottish Cup semi-final and this time, in the third round of this competition, they have home advantage.

Celtic, who lost to Rangers in extra-time in last season's final, will be determined to get their hands on this trophy after bowing out of the Europa League last week.

Staggies manager Derek Adams insists his team will do all they can to cause another upset.

He said: "After deservedly coming through the last round against Hamilton, I am delighted to get such a great home draw. It's great for the area, great for our supporters and I am sure we will have a capacity crowd inside Victoria Park.

"As for our chances, you never say never in football. I am sure Neil Lennon will be looking forward to it and he'll feel he has a score to settle, but we will be doing everything we can to progress to the next round."

County will welcome the Parkhead side on September 20 or 21.

The other third round ties are: Aberdeen v East Fife, Airdrie United v Dundee United, Ayr United v Hearts, Falkirk v Rangers, Kilmarnock v Queen of the South, Motherwell v Hibernian, Ross County v Celtic, St. Johnstone v St Mirren.
