A VILLAGE school is piloting a digital savings scheme for Forres Area Credit Union (FACU).

P5-7 pupils from Dallas already have experience of traditional bank telling but are now testing online system 'Money Bees' before it is rolled out to participating schools across Moray.

A FACU spokesperson explained: "Dallas Primary was chosen to pioneer the new package because the pupils have experience of running a savings club over the past few years. It is the first school in Scotland to use Money Bees, which was funded by Forres Area Forum. The Berry Burn Community Fund has funded our staffs' development of the use of the system in Moray."

FACU already operates savings clubs in Anderson's Primary School, Applegrove, Kinloss, Lhanbryde and Greenwards Primary Schools.
