Liz on a truck for Malawi
FORRES Academy teacher, LIz Stewart is giving the 'thumbs-up' to a local transport company.
Ms Stewart has been involved with a project to re-build and re-furbish classrooms and orphanage accommodation in Malawi.
she has also pioneered a community project - introduding the womens group to making a business from sewing fabric and creating a woodworking project.
Her enthusiasm led to a substantial donation from a local community councillor which has enabled purchase of some tools and woodworking benches.
However, Ms Stewart was unable to get them to Malawi.
Forres removals business Whites of Forres stepped into the breach and offered to help with transport of the items.
Ms Stewart and fellow teacher John O'Neil from Mallaig, who is alos involved in the project, went along last week to help load up.
The pair waved goodbye to the items, and will see them again when theya rein Africa during the summer months.
A team from Forres Academy of students, and former students are going along to continue with the project.
