MEMBERS of 1st Dunnet Bay Beavers recently enjoyed an evening learning about the joys of gardening at the Woodside Garden Centre in Castletown.

Owner Chris Dare provided a varied and interesting programme of activities which the youngsters thoroughly enjoyed.

A special favourite was the potting of marigolds which the Beavers sold at their coffee morning on June 11 in the Drill Hall, Castletown.

The event raised £515.20 for the Sok Sabay Children’s Refuge in Cambodia and to help fund a cubs and beavers "day to remember" at Fairburn activity centre near Muir of Ord next year.

The youngsters are grateful for the support from local businesses, parents and friends who helped make the event a success.
