Soldier fined £5200 after driving while banned

A SOLDIER has been fined £5200 after he was caught illegally driving on the A9.

Kevin Paterson was travelling on the trunk road at Daviot on 7th November last year, while he was disqualified from driving or obtaining a licence.

The 31-year-old, of the Fort George barracks at Ardersier, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court today where he pled guilty to the offence.

Paterson also admitted driving on the same date without insurance.

Sheriff Ian Abercrombie fined and also banned Paterson from driving for three years.
