A 32-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man have been charged following the recovery of £5000 of cocaine in Buckie.

The drugs were uncovered in the Letterfourie Road area of the town as part of an intelligence-led police operation last Friday.

Sergeant Philip Wu who led the operation said: "Information from the public is key in our activity to tackle the misuse of drugs.

"Operations such as the one carried out on Friday are made possible because of this information and allows us to intercept drugs before they reach local areas.

"I would like to thank the local community for continuing to support us with our activities."
