NEW speed restrictions have been slapped at three locations in the Inverness area today - including a busy approach to the city.

Drivers are being warned of changes to speed limits on Millburn Road which have been introduced by Highland Council.

.A revised speed restriction will restrict all traffic to 40mph from the Raigmore Interchange Roundabout to a point 130 metres west, and thereafter traffic travelling along Millburn Road will be restricted to 30mph.

The next change will be at Foyers where, in the interest of road safety, a 30mph speed limit will be introduced through the residential part of the B852 which goes through Foyers.

The third change will be along the B862 Inverness to Fort Augustus road. A new 40mph speed limit will be in place at Errogie on both the B862 and the C1080 roads as they pass the residential area.

All of the new speed limits will be sign posted and drivers are being asked to ensure they drive at the correct speed.
