The event – which was supported by Highlands and Islands Airport Limited (Hial), Skills Development Scotland and Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Inverness & Central Highland – involved organisations across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, education, construction, hospitality, tourism, science and technology, finance, creative industries and emergency services..

The pupils also had the chance to work on their CVs, discover workplace expectations and practice their interview skills.

Head teacher John Rutter said: “We consistently have high positive destination figures for our school leavers and events such as this really complement the year-round hard work that all our staff put into giving our young people the best possible chances for success.”

For the first time, the event also included a mini trade show, giving pupils the chance to mingle with the more than 40 businesses attending.

Andy Maxtone, programme manager for DYW Inverness & Central Highland, said: “Initiatives like the employability event are great for pupils, as it opens their eyes to the different types of jobs out there, and the various paths that can be taken to attain them.”
