Give Raptors a shot at progress
Dave Carson says that Highland Rugby Club are considering putting forward a motion to the Scottish Rugby Union to change their rule on promotion for second string sides.
Highland 2nds are currently top of the Caledonia North Two table, but they are not allowed to be promoted.
Carson says the disparity between the level Highland’s first and second teams are playing at could become an issue, and they are thinking about bidding to change the SRU ruling.
“They can win the championship, but at the moment with the SRU ruling they can’t get promotion,” Carson explained.
“That’s something we’re going to have a chat about with the committee, because for us progressing, we want our seconds playing in the highest standard they can."
