TAIN Thistle completed their dream debut season in the North West Sutherland Football Association by celebrating a double as they lifted the Polla Cup.

The league champions were too good for Lairg Rovers as they romped to a 6-1 victory in the final at the Highland Football Academy in Dingwall.

The trophy, is played for between the league’s two highest scoring teams during the season.

It was a remarkable achievement for Thistle who only joined the Sutherland division after leaving the Ross-shire Welfare Football Association to make the step-up into amateur football.
