A former Lib-Dem Highland councillor has defected to the SNP.

Glynis Sinclair stood as a non-aligned Inverness councillor after quitting the Lib-Dems in January.

However, Mrs Sinclair, who represents Culloden and Ardersier, says she did not change party due to the SNP's success in the Scottish Parliament elections this month.

She stresses she had been considering the move for sometime due to opposition to some of the council budget cuts.
