Police Scotland have confirmed that missing person Wayne MacMillan has been traced safe and well.

Officers were alerted to a potential sighting of the 45-year-old in the Forres area earlier today. He was reported missing on Friday, September 7.

Detective Inspector Allen Shaw, who has been leading enquiries, said: "Searches have been ongoing for a number of days now in the Brodie area, where Wayne was last seen, and during that time numerous people have been in touch with information and potential sightings.

"I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contacted the police for your support and in particular the member of the public who provided us with information today that resulted in Wayne being traced safe and well."
