A RAPIST with a lust for blood who cut sex attack victims in Inverness with scissors is making a shock move for freedom.

This comes despite a judge warning him on Thursday he might never be released from jail because of the danger he poses to women.

Hector MacLennan has hired a new legal team and is set to appeal against his conviction for the vicious crimes.

MacLennan (30), from Munlochy on the Black Isle whose father is also a sex offender carried out a catalogue of sickening rapes and assaults against three teenage girls over a nine-year period.

Last week at the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Woolman imposed an Order for Lifelong Restriction on MacLennan and instructed he should serve at least five years in prison before he can even apply for release.
