Players' progress is Polworth's legacy

Former Clachnacuddin boss Iain Polworth thinks that the club is in a far better position now than when he took over a decade ago.

Polworth had previously been the longest serving manager in the Highland League with his 10 year reign, eclipsing his closest challengers for that accolade.

But after a poor start to the season, which has seen Clach knocked out of the Scottish Cup and floundering in 16th in the league, the board announced on Monday evening that they had accepted his resignation.

In his time at the club Clach were saved from liquidation, and rose up the league table - an achievement that saw Polworth named Highland League manager of the year in 2013.

But he thinks that his legacy will be the players playing their trade in the Highland League that he gave a start to at Clachnacuddin.
