Scot played significant role

By SPP Reporter

Sir, – I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to our local newspaper, ‘The Northern Scot’, for the significant role it played in keeping the nine-month ‘Keep the RAF in Moray’ campaign in the public eye, both nationally and locally.

‘The Northern Scot’ has consistently contributed to the powerful and passionate campaign message being kept alive in the hearts and minds of individuals and communities in Moray.

The campaign undoubtedly benefited from its sustained efforts to highlight Moray’s compelling case for retaining RAF Lossie.

In the days of instant communication, social media seems to have overshadowed the more traditional ways of giving expression to the collective voice and reporting news.

However, when it comes to key messages on critical issues that really matter to communities; nothing beats the familiarity and comfort of a local, community newspaper.

It should always have its rightful place as part of the fabric of the society in which it serves.

Please pass on my sincere thanks to everyone at ‘The Northern Scot’.

Yours etc,

Eileen Bush,

Chief Officer,

Voluntary Action Moray and Moray Task Force member.
