A ROTHIEMAY Primary school bus collided with a lorry yesterday afternoon on the B9117 near Keith.

The accident, which happened about 3.30pm, resulted in the bus driver being taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precautionary measure. A number of pupils were also treated at the scene for very minor injuries. The lorry driver was uninjured.

A Moray Council spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a school bus carrying 10 children from Rothiemay Primary School was involved in an incident on Thursday September 13.

“All children on board were wearing seat-belts at the time of the incident but as there is a police investigation currently on-going into the cause of the incident it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this time, however we’re offering continued support to the pupils who were involved and their families.”

The road was blocked in both directions yesterday afternoon but was clear from around 5pm.
