Primark clothes thief caught on CCTV

By SPP Reporter

A DRUG addict stole items from an Inverness store to clothe himself, the city’s Sheriff Court heard.

Ryan Stephen (26), of Waterloo Place, stole the clothing worth £70 from Primark on Bridge Street while he was on bail.

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, took place at 3.20pm on October 5, 2010.

His defence solicitor Craig Wood said Stephen had been a heroin addict who had managed to wean himself off the drug, but that he had started using it again last July. He added he continued taking it until recently.

He added: "He took these items to clothe himself."

Sentence was deferred until May 19 for community service and social enquiry reports.
