LIAM Neeson looks suitably confused for much of this fast-paced thriller when he wakes up from a coma in hospital with head injuries after a car crash and finds someone has taken his place in life and nicked his wife.

The action takes place in Berlin where Neeson plays scientist Dr Martin Harris who is attending a high-profile conference where a world breakthrough in plant cultivation is about be announced.

Despite his befuddled mind, Harris becomes convinced that sinister forces are at work and suddenly finds a hit team on his trail, leading to a series of spectacular chase sequences.

Unknown is not quite the "Bourne meets Hitchcock" boast of the publicity material, but it’s a tense thriller with a decent plot twist near the end. PB
