Man hospitalised after Elgin assault

FOLLOWING a report of an assault on a 40-year-old man in Elgin the police are appealing for information.

The incident happened in the Pinefield area of town at around 1am on Saturday, and the man was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment as a result.

Officers would like to trace two men who were in the area around the time and may be able to assist with enquiries.

They are described as being aged in their early 20s, of average height and slim build. One is described as having black hair while the other had lighter coloured hair. Both were both wearing hooded tops

Enquiry officer Sergeant Neil Morrison said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have information in relation to this assault or who witnessed the incident."
